Over the years, I’ve lost count of how many teachers have turned my plays into full-blown musicals.
I’ve also lost count of how many times I’ve said, “Yes, I’m totally going to write official musical versions of these.” And I am… eventually. I’m actually halfway through Hamlet: The Musical right now. (By “halfway through,” I mean it’s been in progress for, oh, about 5–6 years. Don’t judge.(well, okay, maybe judge a little, I do!))
In the meantime, one very awesome teacher took matters into her own hands.
She wrote lyrics for my Odyssey for Kids play and matched them to music that’s in the public domain. It worked beautifully for her students—from lower and upper elementary all the way up to 8th grade at her school.
The best part?
She’s willing to share those lyrics with you on TPT. Yeah!
